Lon Lon Ranch was always a pleasant place to go to for when you're paying a visit or even trading. The people there were friendly, the animals were well looked after and happy, and it was the best place to view the field when you sit atop the fences. Kai and Mizu ran with all of their power to see Malon, who was a young woman in charge of looking after the horses.
"Kai! What a pleasant surprise! And who's your lovely friend?"
She quickly introduced Mizu to Malon, and vice versa, "Listen Malon, sorry for cutting the visit short, but we need to borrow a horse, just to get to the forest."
"A horse?" She looked over at her dad, Talon, who was fast asleep next to the cuckoos, "Only if you can sneak her out of here without waking pop. Ever since Ingo's been back to his normal self, he's been a lot stricter about business and won't let you borrow a horse for free."
She led them into the barn which her dad was just outside of, and she lent them a medium sized horse with a light brown coat called Furdy. "You do remember how to ride a horse don't you Kai?" Malon asked as she was untying the horse.
"Yes, don't worry. I'm not as bad on a horse as Arill."
Malon couldn't help but laugh quietly at Arill's past attempts to ride a horse. "Well, here you go. Please take care of her."
"We will!" Kai mounted the horse and helped Mizu up. Malon opened up the door for them to ride out and whacked Furdy's sides. She started galloping to the left after she left the barn and didn't listen to Kai's orders, but after a few seconds of Kai yanking at her reins she did as she was told and jumped over the Ranch's fence. It took only an hour to get to the forest, and they left Furdy just outside the entrance of the village.
"We'll head over to their home first, then check the spot Arill's been training at." Kai called up to Link and Arill's house and saw a bandaged-up Link step outside.
"Kai? What are you doing here?" He jumped down to see them. Both girls were looking at his right arm, which was bandaged up the most and held in place to stop Link from using it. There was also a bandage around his left leg, a smaller one around his right, a medium one around his left hand and a thin one around his head. "I had a bit of misfortune on my way back from the north." He explained. "I was riding Epona and hit my head on a branch, fell off, and landed on some big rocks. All of my bones have healed thanks to the brewers in the Market who make the red potion, but Arill insists I keep the bandages on for longer just in case."
Kai blinked at him, "I see" She gently patted Mizu's back to make her step forward, "Link, I believe you haven't met my best friend. This is Mizu."
Mizu couldn't believe she was staring at the Hero of Time standing in front of her. Unlike Arill's greeting, Link shook her hand with his left and welcomed him to his era. "It's always a pleasure to meet a friend of Kai, and that's a nice-looking staff, do you fight too?" He smiled.
Mizu became flustered, "I-it's an honour to meet you too Mr. Link. A-and y-yes sir."
Kai giggled to herself about her friend's reaction, but stopped when she remembered how she reacted when he met him too, which was the same. "But anyway" Link started after he finished his welcome. "You didn't answer my question, what are you doing here?"
Kai's face sank and muttered quietly, poking her fingers together, "It's a long story, and you'd better get Arill, we've got trouble."

"That man's here?! In Hyrule?! You've got to be kidding me!!"
Arill was furious at Kai and Mizu for sneaking back in time to meet him, "And there was me thinking I could sense another Jewel of Neptune, and I was right! You do know after a while he will have picked up the energy from your Jewel of Neptune? He'll be able to find both of us now!"
Kai was in tears, "Arill I'm really sorry, if there's anything I can do-"
"Yeah, you can go off back home to Windfall! And take your friend with you! You've done more then enough damage here!" Arill faced her back to them and was trembling with fright from the thought of the man finding her again, but she refused to admit it. Link stood up as he was listening and, ignoring what Arill just said, asked kindly to the girls, "Kai? Mizu? Would you help us deal with this man? I'm sure if we all worked together we could beat him."
Arill snapped her head up and intervened. "What? Link, this guy isn't like the monsters we fought back when Kai saw us last! Not only is he stronger and smarter but he will have figured out what their weaknesses are! Besides, you're still injured from your accident!"
"Arill, I've been fine for days." He ripped off the bandage on his arm and it was completely healed, shutting Arill up instantly."But for the weaknesses, we don't know if that's true. He only knows your weaknesses, and you and Kai have a completely different style of fighting, not to mention she has all of the power of the sages in her weapons now. And Mizu here's most certainly going to be of help," He looked over at them, "He didn't see you guys fight with any monsters did he?"
Both shook their heads, "There we go then! Now, we'll head to Kakariko Village. That way he won't know where we live and he'd be stupid to start a fight in a public area."
After Link took off all of this bandages and making Arill apologize to Kai for shouting at her, he used the Song of Soaring to warp everyone to Kakariko. Using the Nocturne of Shadow would have been quicker but he wouldn't have been able to warp the other three with him.
They waited silently by the well, Link holding onto Arill and comforting her whilst Kai and Mizu took turns to have a look around the village.
"Can anyone here sense where he is?" Link asked.
Both Kai and Mizu shook their heads but Arill said, "He's still not far away, but too far for us to see him. He's probably still at the Market."
The lady who looks after the cuckoos came over a few times to ask if Arill was ok, as throughout the day she kept breaking down and sobbing into Link's hat. Link kept assuring the lady she was fine and to enjoy her day, but the final time she came to check she gave Arill a blanket to cry into, so Link could have his cap back.
Arill froze up as the sun faded from the sky and turned her head towards the entrance of the village. Link and the two girls looked over as well to see a white figure slowly walking inside and checking out the area. Link's expression turned serious and unsheathed his sword, Kai did the same, and Mizu picked up her staff from the ground. Arill did nothing but watch with a tear-stained face as he drew closer towards them. He stopped right in the centre of Kakariko, and Link then decided to step forward and speak to him, Mizu following close behind.
"Well, well, well, I'm not surprised to see you here Link, didn't think you'd be living in the backwaters of this area."
Mizu looked at him and saw no sign of kindness or sincerity anymore, only lust and greed. His eyes were shining a deep blue in the sunset, and the orange-pink of the sky brought the colour of his eyes out even more. Kai kept close to Arill who now hid her fear and glared at the man with burning hatred.
"What are you doing here?" Link asked, "If you're here to pick a fight then think again!"
The man smirked, "Oh no, I'm not here to fight, I just want Arill to come with me then I'll be on my way. Your little friends led me here you know, they didn't seem to realise who I was."
"Oh yes we bloody did!" Mizu barked, "You just gave us no choice in the matter!"
He raised his eyebrows, "I see, so you were trying to sneak into my house after all, why is this?"
She didn't want to say it was out of curiosity, but he seemed to have already guessed it, "You must have heard of me from Arill, and wanted to come and see me," He then laughed to himself, "That backfired didn't it? Curiosity killed the cat you know, and it'll certainly kill you."
Without warning, he ran at Mizu with blinding speed and was about to stab her, only for Link to sidestep in and block the attack with his shield. He pushed the man backwards and tossed a Deku Nut at his feet, yelling at Mizu to shield her eyes. The man pulled his cape over his face and avoided the bright light too, and then took a sharp stab at Link. Mizu couldn't see any opening for her to strike; both warriors were striking at each other with such speed it was hard to tell when to attack. Link began gaining the advantage and disarmed him, then knocked him across the village with Din's Fire. He forced himself up and saw a commoner nearby; he gathered some white energy in his hand and blasted her with a light ray from his palm, killing her instantly. Then he shot at a man, who fell over, dead, and dropped his bags of wheat, then shot at a child who was playing with a Deku Stick. Link screamed at him to stop it and charged at him with blind rage, trying to hit him as hard as possible. The man gained an instant upper hand from Link's inaccuracy and began beating him to a pulp, disarming him as well.
"Link! He's trying to make you angry! You have to rise to it!"
Arill yelled this to Link and he regained some of his sense. The man huffed in annoyance and shot a different light ray at Arill, but Kai stepped in and used her shield to bounce the attack off. The ray shot off into the orange sky and sizzled into dust.
Link then managed to knock seven bells out of the guy whilst he was open, leaving bruises on his fine skin and staining his clothes in dirt and blood. He was irritated now, and knew he wasn't going to win today. He started stepping away quickly, keeping a distance from Link and using magic on not just Link, but Mizu, Kai and Arill too. Swirling white trails wrapped around all of them, each having their own curse. For Kai it left her dizzy, leaving her sight blurry and lose her footing. Mizu was hallucinating and seeing monsters bigger then houses surrounding her, staring her down and trapping her against the wall. For Link it encumbered him and was struggling to move, and even dropping his shield from it's sudden gain in weight. And for Arill it knocked her out. The man made a solid whack to Link's face, knocking him out too, and left the scene before they recovered, healing himself as he left to regain his strength and his dignity. Mizu was too afraid to move and Kai fell over from dizziness.

The cuckoo lady helped Kai up after she regained some stability, and Kai then helped Mizu snap out of her hallucinations. Link and Arill were still unconscious, Arill was mumbling about water and Link remained still with a dark purple bruise on his face.
The three of them were staying in the cuckoo lady's house for the night. Link awoke eventually and used a pink fairy to heal his massive bruise and all then tended to Arill, who was still unconscious.
"She keeps talking about water in her sleep but we've given her plenty! Why isn't she waking up?" Mizu complained.
"She must be in some kind of trance. What water have you given her?" Link asked.
The lady stepped in, "Just some plain water from the well, it's too dark to go outside to get some more now, we'll have to wait until tomorrow."
"Hey Kai," Mizu asked, pointing at her Jewel of Neptune, "How about you give her water from that?"
"Mii, for the last time, I've not learnt any water spells! I only learnt how to shoot water out of it like a waterfall. Studying for my finals was far more important at the time."
"That's it? Surely Arill taught you more spells than that!"
"I figured I didn't need them so I never bothered..."
They all then pondered about how they could get some more water for Arill, then Kai had a thought, "Wait a minute, Mi-mi? Did you ever get that water back from the white man?"
Her face lit up, looking rather proud, "Yes I did! The stupid jerk didn't want us to drink it, but we'll show him!" She passed it to Link who then fed Arill the water. After she gulped the last drop, she stopped muttering and fell into a deep sleep.
"Well that's her sorted." Link said, "Now we should get some sleep too. I'll stay up and keep an eye out for him, and no arguing! I've stayed up many nights in a row and I can still fight at my best."
Although what Link said is true, he did however fall asleep on duty from fatigue. He was really annoyed with himself when he woke up the next day, and more so to find that Arill was gone.
"She left in the middle of the night." The cuckoo lady said. "I heard her come down the stairs and she seemed wide awake, she must have gone for a stroll."
Link shook his head in disbelief. "That's not like Arill to go walking about when there's trouble."
"Maybe she was sleepwalking? I did that once when I was little, my grandma found me on top of Outset the next day!" Kai laughed.
"Maybe she's been brainwashed?" As Mizu said that, all of them, except for the Cuckoo lady who was making breakfast, froze in thought. Suddenly, they ran out of the house to look for her.
The White Man shows his nasty side! And Arill's gone missing...not good :<
