Tales of the White Man pt 9

Link and the man dressed completely in white known as Millenia, duelled together in a sword fight to the death. Link was still unaware, as was everyone else except for the unconscious Zelda, that Arill was using a luck charm to stop Millenia from being defeated. Resulting Link in constantly missing his target and getting hit, soon leading to his defeat.
Both Kai and Mizu didn't realise the half-dead princess on the floor until Link and Millenia's fight came into close contact with her. Kai gasped and ran up to her, whilst Mizu stayed behind with Arill.
"Zelda! Wake up! Oh sweet Din she's bleeding!" Kai rummaged through her pockets and found tissues, using them to soak up the blood. Then with a gasp of delight, she found a bottle with a pink fairy inside, using the fairy to heal her. Her wound healed up instantly and the blood returned back into her skull.
"Phew! That was frightening." The princess's eyes fluttered and she came to, slowly lifting herself up and looking at the present situation.
"Child? What are you doing here?" She asked hazily.
"It's a long story your hi-um, Zelda, but we've got to help Arill!"
She looked over at the silent Arill, then at the fight. Link was still holding his ground, but his fatigue was starting to show. She quietly stood up and walked over to Arill.
Millenia spotted Zelda and whacked Link aside; she stopped and froze up. Kai stepped forward, summoning up the only spell she knew from the Jewel of Neptune, and used it to try and knock him into the wall. Unfortunately for her, he knew all of Arill's water tricks and knew this spell too. He simply leapt up before she was about to shoot and kicked her aside, knocking her out.
He faced Zelda, stepping towards her and said, "Now to finish you your highness." She quickly pushed him away and ran towards Link, using Nayru's Love to protect her. He eventually managed to breach her defences and knock her down again, and was about to blast her to pieces. But just then the doors swung open and outside were all of the guards from the castle, including the guard leader, Donagh and Zelda's attendant, Impa.
The Princess yelled orders immediately, "Slay that man! He's trying to kill us all!"
As the guards charged at him, Millenia looked at the odds and saw that even though he could take them all down, Arill was left defenceless, leaving them a chance to knock her out and therefore prevent her from using her luck spell.
"Come Arill! We're leaving! It's getting too crowded in here!"
She began walking only for Mizu to grab her by her hand. Link tried to run over and help but Millenia shot him down with a spell. Zelda ran over whilst Millenia was striking the others, grabbing Arill by her other hand. Only when the Princess grabbed Arill and pleaded for her to stay, she faltered. She seemed to be snapping out of this spell and stopped walking. Millenia scowled again and shot at Mizu and Zelda. He hit Mizu, knocking her out, but Zelda used Nayru's Love again, the beam deflected and hit Arill, but it bounced straight off her. Her trance returned and she ran off with the man.
"Everyone, after them!" Donagh ordered. All the guards ran out of the room and some returned to seal off the other exits. Impa remained behind and tended to the injured Zelda.
"Please Impa, I'm fine. But please check Link, Kai and the other girl's health, I fear that man hit them too hard."

An hour later everyone was awake and resting with blankets wrapped around them in the medical chamber. Link was tended to the most; Millenia caused many injuries on Link, the worst being torn muscles on his left arm. Brewers were cooking him up more Red Potion for him in the other room.
Donagh came into the chamber, panting and heaving. "Your highness…" he tried to bow but only stretched so far before he grunted with pain.
"Rise Donagh, what of Millenia?" Zelda spoke.
"We lost him your highness…he and the girl…managed to breach our defences…we've sent out men…in search of them." He panted.
Zelda stood up, "No! Call them off at once! This man, he's not to be trifled with, they'll get killed! And the girl is Arill! She's in a trance!"
Mizu, Kai and Link were listening intently at what Zelda said. Millenia? Was that the guy's name? Why would he keep a name like that secret?
"As you wish Princess....I'll send messengers...to find them at once." He tried to bow again and left.
Link looked at the princess, confused. "Zelda, is there something you know about this guy that we don't? And what was wrong with Arill?"
Zelda explained what she learnt to them all. She began explaining his power over Arill and when she looked into both of their minds. "He was planning to kill me to govern the land of Hyrule, to start his reign of terror from here and end up with the world in his clutches, but with the timely appearance of you three, you rescued me, and I thank you." She rested her hand on Link's bruised arm and smiled at him, causing a bigger smile to grow on Link face. She continued quietly with a frown, "But your sister, I cannot think of how to remove the spell placed on her."
"Wait," Kai stepped in. Even though she felt this was the wrong time to ask, this question was burning in her mind the whole time, "This Millenia, why doesn't he tell anyone his name?"
Zelda was thinking about what she saw in the man's thoughts. "It seems he's been in this world longer then people have recorded. And in the past few centuries he's tried to overrun castles, palaces and other such things before. But he's always been bested somehow. He keeps his profile low after he fails, and tries again a generation or two later."
"Centuries?! Just how old is this guy?" Mizu cried out.
"I'm not sure, but the earliest memory I could look at before he noticed was over three-thousand years ago."
Kai and Mizu were astonished; never did they think the guy was that old, "And he's interested in Arill? Why in Farore is he interested in her?"
"He told me about a special power hidden inside her, and he's right. There's a very powerful ball of magic deep within her and it's far stronger then the magic I have. But she can't use it. Only Millenia can seem to channel it."
She explained too about the luck charm placed around him, and told Link why he and herself couldn't seem to hit him. "Which is also why I don't want anyone going after him until we have a plan." She said.

For the rest of the afternoon, they all talked about their plan to rescue Arill and defeat Millenia. But any idea they had in mind collided with the fact the guy had luck on his side. Meanwhile, just outside Lake Hylia, Millenia and Arill were sitting nearby some trees; he began setting up camp whilst Arill was slowly regaining some of her sense back.
"You should've seen your friends and your brother's face when they saw you. I wish I had one of those new things they've invented…pictographs was it?"
Arill said nothing. She was incapable of moving but she was free to speak and express emotion. He finished setting up camp and prepared the dinner, Arill was stuck sitting on a rock whilst he purposely cut up Hylian pikes in front of her. He was thinking about feeding it to her, but he wasn't that cruel. Plus she can't hate him too much, that would possibly tamper with his spell over her, and because this is the girl he'll be spending the rest of his days with, he'd have to start learning to get on with her, so he roasted some seaweed instead.
He looked up and saw a look of disgust from her, "Come now Arill, don't pull that face. If you keep that up I'll put you back under your spell."
She shuddered and tried to relax. She has no idea what he does to her when she's in her trance. The last thing she remembers normally is when he flicks his wrist at her, and he did that yesterday with her at the Graveyard.
"I think tomorrow I'll finish off your brother for good, he's been a thorn in my side for far too long now. That Mizu I'll just feed to the monsters around here, and Kai…" He looked up at Arill, and then sat right next to her, too close for her liking. "Tell me Arill, is Kai a family member?"
She squirmed at his closeness; he was so close they would have been mistaken for touching. She froze as he placed his arm around her waist. "Get off me! I'm not answering your stupid questions otherwise!"
He thought about it then let go, taking his time doing so and made her face him. "Answer my question, or it's back under my spell you go."
She shuddered a little again, "She is a family member, but she's not like me, she can't transform into an Asrai."
"That's not what I found out. She reacted to the pumple I gave to her on the way here."
Arill froze again, "Well…that may be, but she still can't transform into one."
Millenia looked away and thought to himself. Arill was still stuck there and ended up thinking what she could remember from the last two weeks. He was pressing on about spells she knows she can't perform, like losing a person's sense of touch, summoning the beasts of the north called Wartords, and more positive things like granting everlasting life, or blessing a certain amount of people with strength. It was things she never thought she could ever do, Zelda possibly, or even Link, but never her. Then she thought of a faint memory, the melodic and pleasant voice of Princess Zelda, pulling at her hand, and that girl, Mizu, tugging at her other hand. She felt a sense of rejuvenation when Zelda was holding onto her, but she only felt it for a moment. Was that memory real? It felt like it happened earlier, but she wasn't sure.
Millenia interrupted her thoughts by asking another question,"I think you might have a spell you know, to bring out the real nature of a person. Have you ever done that before Arill?"
She replied with her usual answer of no to those questions. As much as she protested to the guy about her inferiority to him now she's stuck like this, he just ignores her and usually puts her back into her trance. "Now I have a plan here, if I can bring to those guys proof she's an Asrai, not only can I permanently get rid of her, but I'll have some extra cash in my pockets."
Arill growled, "You wouldn't dare! You heard what those guys said; they'd dissect her if she refuses to listen to them!"
"I know." He looked back at her with his devious smile. She couldn't help but fill up with tears, she can't do anything about Kai's fate and she couldn't even warn her. She couldn't hide it anymore, she sobbed away and from what she saw Millenia didn't even care. She wanted to curl up like she normally does when she's upset or afraid but his spell stopped her from doing so. She recovered after a few moments and stopped shedding tears instantly when she saw something on the man's ring finger.
"Wait, is that a wedding ri-" He reacted quickly before she could finish and flicked his wrist. Her face's sadness disappeared and was emotionless once again.
"I think I've upset you enough for one day." He then commanded her to eat her food. "You're getting better with me, at least you're not screaming at me anymore like when I first took you out of my spell. You were unbearable then. But now it seems you're beginning to enjoy my company, which is good."
After dinner, he told her to rest in the bed he made. She closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep without a fuss, and he pulled a blanket over her to stop her getting a chill.
"I think tomorrow morning I'll make you practice revealing the true natures of creatures before we strike Link down and the two brats. But for now, we need to sleep." He turned over to face her, "goodnight my dear wife."
He placed his bed right next to her and gazed into her face once more, then placed his hand on her's, which had a ring on the ring finger, just like him. He smiled at her then fell asleep.
